Stoney Steps is in the grounds of The Inn on the Lake, a very substantial hotel in Glenridding. If using Satnav, the postcode is CA11 0PE.

If coming by rail, there is a regular bus service direct from Penrith railway station to Glenridding, with a very short walk to the flat on the other side of the main road. 

If coming by car from the South along the M6, you can either leave at  Junction 36 to Windermere and come over the Kirkstone Pass or carry on to Junction 40 at Penrith along the A66 towards Keswick.  Turn off after a mile onto the A592 to Glenridding and enjoy the views along along the lake shore.   NB, In winter conditions the Kirkstone Pass is frequently closed, so come via Penrith.

Coming from the North, the Penrith exit of the M6 is best.
